Michelle Lazarus, Procurement Executive with Thompsons Africa recently travelled to Hluhluwe and Mozambique and came back gushing about the magnificent experience!

Michelle’s first two nights were at Thanda Safari where she spent a night in their Safari Lodge and a second night in their Tented Camp.

‘The accommodation at Safari Lodge is stunning!  Each lodge has an outdoor bed, plunge pool and private fireplace.  The food was delicious.  The staff (both lodge staff and guides) were amazing.  What a treat to have the opportunity to experience this wonderful lodge.’

Next stop?  Ponta Mamoli, Mozambique for 2 nights at White Pearl Resorts.  Michelle was transferred from Huhluwe (Thanda to the Kosi Bay Border) via a 2 hour transfer on a newly tarred road.  Undercover parking is available to guests leaving their vehicle at the border (ZAR50 per day and secure).  White Pearl Resorts transfer guests from the Kosi Bay Border in a Luxury SUV.  They have an excellent relationship with the immigration authorities at the border and assist guests in experiencing a seamless border crossing.  If guests are self driving, they should be aware that the gravel road (of about 11 kms) to White Pearl Resorts is in poor condition and should only be done in a 4×4.

Of her nights at White Pearl Resorts, Michelle said it was ‘Heaven on Earth’.

‘The service was absolutely impeccable.  The staff were amazing and so friendly.  Our room was big and had a gorgeous view of the sea.  The bed is huge and so clean and comfortable.  What amazed me the most was the attention to detail.  From a packed beach bag hanging on the door to flip flops provided for walking around… every kind of tea to little jars with biltong, dried fruit, jellies and nuts provided daily… no detail was overlooked.

Our assigned butler made sure we were taken care of and was always willing to help.  Our room had it’s own pool and luxurious deck loungers which offered privacy yet still offered amazing views overlooking the sea.

The food was delicious.  This lodge is truly amazing and I HIGHLY recommend it!
