Experience of the Week…The Alba Restaurant Boat

The Alba Restaurant Boat, a first of its kind and the only fine dining restaurant boat in Cape Town takes guests on a tour through the fishing industry and yacht harbour in the V&A Waterfront.

It measures twenty-two meters in length with a six meter beam and has a capacity of seventy-two seats seated guests or a hundred for cocktail functions.

It has been designed to be stable and smooth in the water, with floor to ceiling glass windows, which will ensure a comfortable dining experience with great views regardless of the weather.

Additionally, the Alba is fully compliant with safety regulations of the South African Maritime Authority (SAMSA) and the captain and crew are seasoned veterans, fully qualified to handle a vessel this size. Cruise lengths are two hours, beginning with four cruises a day.  Private charters are available on a request basis.

Expect breath-taking views if the Cape Town skyline from the fully glass-enclosed restaurant boat, including sights like Table Mountain and the sparkling lights of the V&A Harbour at night.

‘Having the opportunity to have a 3-course sailing fine dining experience in the heart of Cape Town – V&A Waterfront Harbour – with Table Mountain as my back drop was world class, a must do experience if I may say so!

The service, food and overall ambience on the boat was of the highest quality. The food and wine pairing was especially well executed. I highly recommend anyone to go on this two- hour fine dining experience and see parts of Cape Town Harbour that are not open to the public, learn about the abundance of history in the harbour from bygone days. A highly recommended worthwhile experience.’ – Craig Drysdale – Thompsons Africa Global Sales Manager
